Senior Youth Group Nights (SYG): Join us as we have fun and fellowship, and grow in our faith. These nights consist of skits, games, music, talks, small group time, and more. We meet most Sunday nights from 5:15pm until 7:15pm in St. Michael Hall. All high school students are welcome, and friends are welcome, too.
People of Faith Gatherings: People of Faith gatherings are an integral part of Senior Youth Group. At these once a month gatherings youth and their families have an opportunity to gather with their fellow parishioners to share a meal, participate in the intergenerational opening experience and learn about their Catholic faith through engaging activities. Faith development is extended through the resources provided in the monthly Home Kit.
Wednesday Night Bible Study: Have you said to yourself, "I should read the Bible more."? Or "I don't understand scripture."? Then join us on Wednesday evenings (twice a month) from 6:30pm until 8:00pm for a Bible Study. The topics will vary, but this will be a good time for you to begin to understand scripture a little better. E-mail Brian or call him at 595-0385, ext. 128 to confirm your desire or for more information.
Servants Team: This is the leadership team you your who help plan and run our SYG nights. They meet a few times a month to plan for the Youth nights. A separate training is held at the end of the summer, as well. Talk to Steve for more information about the Servant's Team.
Retreats: Our annual "God Rocks" retreat is a great time of growing in faith and community. This year's theme is "God Rocks: on Tour". Be sure to sign up as soon as possible! We will also offer the "REZ" retreat during Lent, as well as the Diocesan Retreats: "Discovery" and "Christian Awakening."
Missions: We do mission work both here in Virginia and in Guatemala. These are awesome times to step out of one's comfort zone, meet teens from other parishes, and do some serious service. Applications for missions go out in January. You must be at least 18 to participate in the Guatemala mission.
Special Events: We participate in many events throughout the year: Region 4 events like the basketball tournament, the March for Life on January, a Food Fast in February, a Ski Trip in February, and the Diocesan Youth Convention in July. More information about these events will be available as they approach.
