First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion Preparation.

2019-2020 Registration for First Penance and First Holy Communion

“The whole liturgical life of the Church revolves around the Eucharistic sacrifice and the sacraments… The purpose of the sacraments is to sanctify, to build up the Body of Christ and, finally, to give worship to God.”
– Catechism of the Catholic Church, nos. 1113 & 1123

Preparing to receive the sacraments of Penance and First Holy Communion is an exciting time. It is a time for focus on Jesus, faith, and family. Children of the parish who are in second grade and older are invited to begin the formal preparation to receive the sacraments of Penance and First Holy Communion.

The role of parents as the first and best educators of their children is emphasized. A parent attends the preparation sessions with the child.

Children preparing for the sacraments are to be enrolled in the parish Christian Formation process (Gathered By Grace) OR attend a Catholic School during the current year in addition to sacramental preparation. Children prepare for the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) prior to preparation for First Holy Communion. Children may prepare for both sacraments within the same calendar year.

Children in Non-Catholic School MUST also register in Gathered by Grace using the following link

The Present Wonder

There is a silence and a song in nature that is captivating, but it is only captivating when you are silent enough in your own soul and spirit to allow it to be captivating. – Libby Kotula
