Confirmation of Youth:


High School Confirmation Preparation is for those entering their 10th-12th grade year.  For contact information, please contact Ken White, the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, at kwhite@olmc.org or 757-595-0385 ext. 106.

Registration
To register for Confirmation, please fill out the this form.  Information about dates, retreats, and all other details will be forwarded to you.

 

Curriculum
The curriculum used for Confirmation preparation is the new Life Teen“Purpose” program. At the first Confirmation session, you will be instructed on how to download the app and utilize its features on your phone or tablet.

Expectations

  • Attend Mass every Sunday and on Holy Days of Obligation.

  • Attend Life Teen each week as well as all preparation sessions.

  • Attend the Confirmation retreat.

  • Participate in a Confirmation Interview with the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. 

Sponsor
Canonical Requirements of being a sponsor:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.

  • Must be a fully initiated Catholic and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

  • Must practice the faith (go to Mass every Sunday, receive Reconciliation at least once per year, pray daily etc.)

  • Must be married in the Catholic Church OR single and living a chaste life.

Are you an active, practicing Catholic adult who “missed” participating in The Sacrament of Confirmation? We invite you to enter the short process of preparation at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The Most Blessed Sacrament is reserved behind the main altar of the Church and open for private prayer each day from 7:00am-7:00pm.
