Music Ministry

“I feel that music is a demonstration of the truth of Christianity.
Wherever such a response develops, there has been an encounter with Truth,
with the true Creator of the world.
For this reason great sacred music is a reality of theological rank
and of permanent significance for the faith of the whole of Christianity…”
(Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI)

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is open to all adults college aged and beyond. This group provides music at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Liturgy. They explore the rich treasury of church tradition using a variety of styles of music, ranging from chant to modern choral literature. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Please contact the Music Coordinator for information or an informal audition.

Cantor

The cantor prayerfully leads the congregation in song at Mass. They are particularly entrusted with intoning the psalm and chanting the antiphons. Given the responsibility associated with this particular ministry, an audition is required. If you are interested, please email the Music Coordinator.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists of all ages possessing advanced skill level may be invited to be involved at the Sunday Mass. They enhance the joy and solemnity of the Mass through ensemble playing. After auditioning with the Music Coordinator, instrumentalists prepare independently and arrive early to the Liturgy in order to coordinate with each other, the accompanist and the cantor. Anyone interested, please email the Music Coordinator.
